10. Vision

As I embark on creating my next solo show, Sustaining GRACE, I find myself a mix of excited and nervous. This project is the culmination of my musical journey, blending experiences with classical percussion, frame drumming, marimba, and now vocal expression.

Sustaining GRACE aims to tell my story through what I call "telling percussion." I want to explore subtle, playful, and meditative expressions, weaving rhythms that flow like water. My goal is to create an intimate experience that resonates with audiences on a personal level.

The performance reflects themes of belonging, self-respect, and reconciliation with life events. Through frame drums, marimba, and voice, I hope to express feelings that words cannot capture. Incorporating my voice is a new adventure, adding depth to my musical narrative.

As I develop this project, I'm reminded of the importance of play in our lives. This morning, I set an intention to embrace playfulness, which led to a spontaneous musical moment. I’ll do my best to keep you updated on my process, setting my inner critic aside, and look forward to sharing this journey with you!
