ANNAM, our latest piece premiered at aliasTeatern in central Stockholm on 21 & 22 September 2023.

"Annam" (food in Sanskrit) is the DVE duo's new performance about the theme of eating disorders and everyone's pursuit of the freedom to be oneself.
With a poetic and raw expression, a collage of situations, states, and dreams is presented through dance, music, and vocals.

DVE performed a work-in-progress-version(20-min) of Annam at Dansmässan 2022, at Dansens Hus in Stockholm on November 11th. Follow the process by following Maria & Pauline on social media and enjoy a short teaser of the piece here or the two-minute-long teaser here.

PREVIOUS WORK

DVE was thrilled to announce that the duo was confirmed for a residential stay in June 2023 at the picturesque locations of Gnesta/ Skeppsta Hytta. This exciting opportunity is part of the EPOS summer program, including one period dedicated to dance and two focused on music. - We had a productive and inspiring retreat in the idyllic countryside of Sörmland. During this five-day residency, DVE was fully immersed in the artistic process. As the residence drew close, DVE showcased the fruits of its labor with a captivating public concert at Skeppsta Hytta.

DVE performed DE ONDAS BLOMMOR at Teater Slava as part of NAVA GATI - Kroppens poesi, on May 5th. In the piece, DVE explores the beauty in everything that withers and fades away. Music and dance transform dissonance into harmony and reflect the search for peace through all aspects of life.

MA-RGAM premiered in October 2021 at Teater Slava, Stockholm. Ma-rgam showed a profound encounter between a dancer and a musician searching for silence in-between movements and rhythm. In the Indian classical Bharata Natyam dance tradition, Margam is the repertoire you present in front of an audience. It's a refined, rehearsed, and sacred space honoring the form you learned, your inner journey, and the lineage you carry.
